Digital Campaign: Earth Day

To mark Earth Day on April 22, the content team developed ongoing web stories and social media posts to engage our students, faculty and staff on the topic of investing in our planet. Partnering with all six Faculties, Facility Services and the Office of Sustainability, our team helped bring these stories to life.

Research Feature

At McMaster, we recognize our responsibility to work together – across disciplines and faculties, locally and globally – to help create a greener, cleaner and brighter world. We developed a feature highlighting some of the innovative research happening across the university.

Sustainability report launch

We worked with our colleagues in the Office of Sustainability and Facilities to help share McMaster’s New Sustainability Report through a social media campaign to plant one tree in the McMaster carbon sink forest for every 20 views of the report.

Covering campus climate action

Throughout the month, our team shard articles on the Daily News website that highlighted student clubs, groups and collaborations with local organizations to tackle the UN SDGs and reduce impact on the planet. From collecting recycled tech to planting trees, our team was there to cover and help share these initiatives.

Announcing McMaster’s community fridge

Our team met up with organizers to talk about the McMaster Community Fridge, a student-led project that opened its doors on Earth Day (Friday, April 22nd). Our multimedia promotions of the fridge helped to spread the word on campus for anyone in the community to take what they need and leave what they can.
